Gunmen attack navy Camp, Kill 22 soldiers



Gunmen have brought about extreme commotion in a military camp after storming the area to reason utter mayhem.

As much as about 22 squaddies had been killed in Niger Republic on Thursday.

They have been killed when unknown assailants attacked a camp for Malian refugees, the West African nation’s high Minister, Brigi Rafini, said.

In line with Reuters, the assault distinctive a camp within the village of Tassalit in Niger’s Tahoua area, round 525 km Northeast of Niamey.

“We received knowledge of an attack on the camp in Tassalit. For the moment we're told there are 22 useless, however that isn't a complete loss of life toll.

“The demise toll might increase,” he said.

Rafini gave no extra expertise regarding the suspected identities of the attackers or whether or not any civilians had been killed or wounded.

The camp’s residents are Malians who fled to neighbouring Niger after Islamist militants, some with links to al Qaeda, seized Mali’s wilderness north in 2012.
